This policy explains how Econoquest Ltd (“we”, “us”) handles personal data in connection with this website and trade correspondence. Econoquest Ltd is the data controller.
What we collect
This website does not use cookies, analytics or tracking of any kind, and it has no forms. We collect personal data only when you contact us directly — by email or telephone — or when you supply information as part of a trade account or supply arrangement.
- Name, job title and the company you represent.
- Business email address and telephone number.
- Business correspondence, order and account records.
Why we hold it and on what basis
We hold this information to respond to enquiries, to open and operate trade accounts, to place and receive orders, and to keep the purchase and supply records required of us. The lawful bases we rely on are legitimate interests (managing business relationships and correspondence), performance of a contract, and compliance with legal obligations including tax and company record-keeping.
Sharing
We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for marketing. We disclose it only where necessary to our accountant, our carriers and fulfilment partner, our bank and payment providers, and to regulators, HM Revenue & Customs or law enforcement where we are required to.
Retention
Business records, including purchase invoices and account correspondence, are retained for at least six years after the end of the relevant accounting period, in line with UK company and tax record-keeping requirements. Enquiries that do not lead to an account are deleted when they are no longer needed.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you may request access to the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or erase it, object to or restrict its processing, or request its portability. To exercise any of these rights, email lorinseica@econoquest.co.uk. If you are not satisfied with our response you may complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
